Maoude Balde

I have a bachelor’s Degree in Speech and Language Therapy and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Swallowing Disorders (Dysphagia) from Universidad Autonoma de Barcelona.

I have worked in various SEN Colleges, SEN schools, mainstream schools and private practices, working with children and young adults (3 years old to 25 years old) with different needs such as ASD, ADHD, DLD, speech sounds difficulties, language delay, and learning disabilities.

I have vast experience supporting students and staff with AAC (paper-based and powered-based). I have used and supported others to use the following communication aids: eye-gaze equipment, iPads with different communication software such as Grid 3, Proloquo2go, Proloquo, TouchChat, LAMP (Words for Life), Text to speech, and others.

I also have experience supporting students with eating and drinking needs (Dysphagia). I’m signed up to Level B – Foundation Dysphagia practitioner (Royal College of Speech and Language Therapy competencies). Currently working on being signed off on the Proficient level.
